A: If you said Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, you’re correct!
We published Daniela’s Day of the Dead as part of our Cloverleaf Books—Fall and Winter Holidays set this fall.
Daniela is a young girl who misses her grandfather. She remembers him on Day of the Dead, but it’s not a sad occasion. Her family decorates an ofrenda, or altar, in their home. Daniela and her mother shop for special food. And the family visits the cemetery, where they clean the grave and leave marigolds behind.

This book is a great way to talk about Day of the Dead with young children, whether they’re just learning about the holiday or they’ve been celebrating it for years.
