Halloween Is Coming Soon

Happy October, mateys! Oh, wait, Talk Like a Pirate Day is over, isn’t it? I guess I was just inspired by one of the many costumes Hailey tries on in her quest to find the right Halloween costume.


Who is Hailey? She’s the main character in Haliey’s Halloween, part of our Cloverleaf Books—Fall and Winter Holidays set. Readers can follow along as Hailey figures out what she wants to be for Halloween.



Along the way, Hailey learns about the history of Halloween. Did you know that people in Europe didn’t carve pumpkins? That’s because pumpkins are native to the New World. Instead, people carved vegetables such as beets or turnips. They put out those vegetables on Halloween to scare away evil spirits.
