Next up: The Twelve-Fingered Boy, John Hornor Jacobs's debut young adult novel from Carolrhoda Lab.

You may think you've had your fill of teenage "superhero" stories, but that's only because you haven't yet met fifteen-year-old Shreve Cannon, juvenile delinquent and candy-dealer extraordinaire. If you do not love Shreve by the second sentence, you may be lacking either a sense of humor or a soul. Shreve certainly has both, even though he's got a train wreck (er, trailer-wreck) of a home life, is doing time in juvie, and is about to get pulled into a harrowing supernatural cat-and-mouse game that I WILL NOT SPOIL by divulging further details.
(Nor will the book trailer.)
(The press release might, however.)*

Sounds awesome! I would love to have this as an addition to my classroom!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to find books that teenagers can really relate to. This looks like a book they can sink their teeth into. Great pick.
