A Hot-Chocolate Toast to Valentine’s Day

muJqBlyValentine’s Day is fast approaching—and even if you’re not really a “Make-a-Big-Deal-about-the-Holidays” kind of person, who doesn’t love a fun activity to bring a bit of warmth and cheer to a winter weekend? Here’s an inspired idea from our Plan a Holiday Party book that is sure to do just that.

Hot Cocoa Bar Party

A hot cocoa bar theme party is a great way to warm your guests on a chilly February day. Simply provide the makings for hot cocoa, including coca mix, milk, and mugs. Then set out fun toppings, buffet-line style, so people can top their cocoa to their liking. Toppings that work well:

● mini marshmallows (classic!)
● creamy peanut butter
● crushed toffee bits
● colored sprinkles (think red, pink, and white)
● chocolate chips or Hershey’s Kisses (let them melt into the cocoa)
● red hots
● conversation hearts

Have your guests settle in with their custom cocoa and watch a Valentine-themed movie (classics like Casablanca and all-ages picks like Lady and the Tramp are good bets), and there you have it—a Valentine’s party that is sure to please!
